Game title is based on a quote from the movie, The Princess Bride. Played on the Cold War map 1v1 in the Conspiracy app, dated Feb 5-6, 2020. Tolbethessar - NATO, Frederick the Great - USSR
Fall 1960 (the first year) Relatively a default start, both sides going up from 6 to 11, and a bounce in Swe.
Fall 1961 Despite the inital pincer move by the twin Soviet fleets aiming to either threaten North Sea or to seize control of Sweden, the Mother Russia itself became counter-threatened by the Franco-Turkish armies and the British fleet simultaneously. As a result, the two halves of Germany reunited into one and Sweden entering the membership of NATO. The Russian army got ejected from former East Germany into Denmark. Elsewhere, multiple cities were contested. Soviet fleets lurks within sight of both American coasts. Yet, the communists failed to make enough progress for gains to be meaningful all while the NATO was able to raise three fleets!
Fall 1962 Exchanges were made and the last neutrals picked off the map in this year. Asia was an even trade, 2 for 2. North America, was an uneven trade, 1 loss for the opportunity to lay pressure on the two communist holdouts in the New World. The army moves were a blunder on my part, alas. Europe was a positive trade, gain of 1 plus the capital city of Moscow has fallen!
