I would like to have up to 6 testers max, being all working together on the same side across a series of battles, testing specifically for the card-draw system. thesmallrealm.proboards.com/thread/93/mechanics-mid-america-front-acwen.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Days_BattlesI'm considering that series of battles as a suitable prototype to test Mid-America Front's battle mechanism. (Yes, MAF is a prototype of my broader ACW game, which makes this a prototype of a prototype, protoception FTW ) While the scale of these battles are far greater than what you would expect in the Mid-America Front, but you wouldn't be encumbered by logistics, it's the fact that the larger scale allows greater tests of stress to be placed upon the card-draw system makes the 7-Day Battles a good choice for a stress-test anyway. The basic unit you will be working with is the CSA division or USA Corps (both are 6 on each side, funny enough). Not all were particularly active at the same time, but I shall endeavour to ensure that all testers are being used pretty fairly and evenly much as possible. There will be some moments where an unit wasn't engaged in combat. This whole series occurs in middle of the timeline for Mid-America Front (1862*), but was fought near Richmond, VA, so this is located in an area completely different from the MAF. *June 25 to July 1, 1862 by the way. The specific Order of Battle for each side, I haven't listed the commanders here but they can be found in these links if you wish to peek early: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Days_Union_order_of_battleen.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Days_Confederate_order_of_battleI'm currently leaning towards one side but I think to really do a better test, I might have to go with the other. I'm open to comments as to which side should be played as.

*raises hand* When does this start btw? *spots a second guinea pig* Gotcha! jk Anyway, soon as I post everything we need for the test (the commanders, the battle schedule, and the troop numbers ofc, but also a spreadsheet link for the cards). I'm thinking if we do 5 or maybe up to 7 battles (but no more than that), that should be pretty good for a test run. We will sort of simulate the progression of the Seven Day Battles, with causality rates, plan preparations, and cards being drawn to emulate the results of the battles (and hopefully we, the players and the GM, will be able to figure out how to process the cards or see where we need to put a fix in those cards). I'll put up all the details today, tomorrow, and Friday (by then, we should be ready for testing)
