Hello there! I am Dr. Hendrei Gromsinger (generally known as Picard), and I will be your GM on this adventure. I'm here to make sure this is a pleasant and enjoyable experience for everyone. I'm gonna assume we all know how to play regular Diplomacy, for the sake of my Carpal Tunnel. I hope that's okay. So, without further ado... Ambition and Empire (A&E) is set in 1763, the age of Frederick the Great, Maria Theresa, Catherine the Great, and other great leaders. It was also the time of wars becoming bigger and ghastlier - the just-concluded Seven Years' War being the prime example of this. There are ten powers to play here - oy vey! They are: Britain & Hanover - calgary Denmark-Norway - Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb France - kaiserreich The Habsburg Empire (Austria) - Tolbethessar The Ottoman Empire (Turkey) - @salahuddinayubi Prussia - Frederick the Great Poland-Lithuania & Saxony - syndicalist Russia - Santa Anna Spain - Carlos III Sweden - Victor Katz I will open the sign-ups later. Have patience. The rules are best explained in this handy document, prepared (I think) by friend of the site nopunin10did . If anything about it is unclear, I can try to explain. This is the starting map. Rules questions and what-have-yous go here.

For the benefit of anyone who might need more information about how to write orders, I have wrote a good guide in the past. It's still helpful to all. Click here for the guide.

One recommendation for you: Using pure first-come-first-serve for power selection on this map is likely to be problematic for a number of reasons. I love A&E and would even be willing to play it with you all, but it is *very* asymmetric. There are lots of ways to do power-picking: preference lists, blind auctions, Paris Method, random chance, etc. I just think that you may have a hard time getting someone to play the roughest spots on the board.
Or, if you do get volunteers, they might be of the variety of players who aren't prepared for the extra diplomatic work those positions create. Merger of posts done by Tolbethessar

I chose the public auction in the end. In any case, we'd love to have you play with us!

Good point about that weakness of first-come, first-serve, but... nopunin10did, Just let you know that for this game, we aren't doing first-come, first-serve. The signups are done by random lot order (and each player has his rankings of preferences). It's quite a bit more equable than the customary method. It's over in here. EDIT: Never mind my explanation, Dr. Hendrei Gromsinger beat me to it.
Do you mind if I merge your two posts into one, since they're related anyhow, if that's ok with you?

How do you all handle communication? Purely through the forum, or do you chat in Discord and such?
